There’s no doubt that food allergy is an increasing food safety and public health issue. Food allergies have been reported to affect up to 20 million Americans, including approximately 4 million children. The state and local governments and the food service industry have become more diligent in working to ensure the safety of consumers with regard to food allergies. Employees with specific Allergen Awareness training are valued by food establishments because they can help ensure the safety of customers and staff.
Having Allergen Awareness Certificate shows that you have the knowledge to handle foods safely, communicate with customers about their needs and the food establishment's ability to meet them. You also know what to do in the case of an allergy-related emergency.
You can note on your resumé that you have received a certificate of Allergen Awareness from Responsible Training.
The Allergen Awareness Course consists of four easy-to-understand lessons, each with a quick quiz so you can be sure you understand the lesson and are prepared for the exam. To successfully complete the course, you must view all lessons and quizzes, then take 10 question multiple choice exam, which you must pass with 70% to be awarded a certificate. If you don't pass the final exam the first time, no problem! You may retake both the training course and the exam, or skip the course and retake the exam as many times as you need.
Upon successful completion of this training program, you will understand:
Each lesson contains detailed information on the topic. The lessons have an optional voice over that will read the lesson out loud. After reviewing lesson materials, a 3-5 question quiz at the end will test what you have learned. Once you’ve completed all four lessons, you can take the final exam. You must score a passing grade of 70% to receive your certificate.
The Allergen Awareness Course is designed to be completed at your own pace. Most people finish this course in about 2 hours. However, you must complete each lesson before advancing to the next. Each lesson can be reviewed in 20 minutes or less. Quizzes should take 5 minutes each.
Anyone can sign up to improve their allergen awareness through this program. You will need basic internet skills such as locating and logging into websites, then reading and following the instructions found there. We use simple, straightforward language so you can complete the course quickly and confidently.
Your Allergen Awareness certificate is valid for 3 years. This information will be printed on your certificate and may be checked by using our online verification program.
