This Underground Storage Tank (UST) Facility Operator training program teaches owners and operators of UST facilities the laws and regulations for safe operation of a UST facility in the State of Texas. Our program has been approved by the Office of Petroleum Storage Tanks of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and is compliant with TAC §§334.601-334.606 and EPA grant guidelines. Whether you are a new or experienced operator, this course will prepare you to become a UST facility operator with confidence.

Responsible Training's UST Class A & B Facility Operator Courses are approved by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality as third-party online training courses which meet or exceed the department's requirements for Class A & B Facility Operator Training.
This course consists of 11 lessons and a final exam. The lessons are:

Anyone who is in charge of the day-to-day operations of a UST facility, such as a gas station, airport, or commercial refueling depot, must hold a certificate from a Class A & B UST Operator Training course.
Holding a Class A & B UST Operator Training certificate shows that you understand UST safety and regulations and have the knowledge needed to oversee UST systems operations. Health officials or employers can check your certificate status through our online system.
The Operator Training Program consists of eleven easy-to-understand lessons, each with a quick quiz so you can be sure you understand the lesson and are prepared for the exam. To be awarded a Class A & B UST Operator Training certificate, you must view all lessons and quizzes, then take 25 question multiple choice exam, which you must pass with 70% to be awarded a certificate. If you don't pass the final exam the first time, no problem! You may retake both the training course and the exam, or skip the course and retake the exam as many times as you need.
Upon successful completion of this training program, you will understand:
Each lesson contains detailed information on the topic and fun exercises. The lessons have an optional voice over that will read the lesson out loud. After reviewing lesson materials, a 5-7 question quiz at the end will test what you have learned. Once you’ve completed all 11 lessons, you can take the final exam. You must score a passing grade of 70% to receive your Class A & B UST Operator Training certificate.
The Class A & B UST Operator Training Program is designed to be completed at your own pace. Most people finish this course in about 4 hours. However, you must complete each lesson before advancing to the next. Each lesson can be reviewed in 15 minutes or less. Quizzes should take 5 minutes each.
Anyone can sign up to learn how to be a Texas UST operator for this program. You will need basic internet skills such as locating and logging into websites, then reading and following the instructions found there. We use simple, straightforward language so you can complete the course quickly and confidently.
Your Class A&B UST Operator Training certificate is valid for 3 years. This information will be printed on your certificate and may be checked by using our online verification program. Refresher training is required at least every 3 years.
